Angela Chen – Managing Director
Ms. Chen is founder and Managing Director of Global Alliance. Her personal and professional career spans several decades of involvement with Asia. She has held senior positions with the world’s largest financial institutions and has assisted them in establishing a presence in China. As Vice President at Prudential Insurance, Angela established their International Private Banking Group in China and developed and managed the Group’s high net worth private client base. Prior to Prudential, Angela was instrumental in establishing the China Futures Trading Desk for Merrill Lynch. As President of the International Division, Ms Chen oversaw the trading desk, which generated annual trading volumes of over $500 million. Her clients included Sino Chem., Ocean Shipping Group and China National Nonferrous Metals. She also acted as Relationship Manager for large private and investment banking portfolios.
In her professional career, Angela has established and strengthened an extensive network of proprietary personal and professional relationships throughout Asia. She has developed a well deserved reputation as a respected and sought-after advisor on establishing business relationships in China. Ms. Chen was educated in China and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Shanghaiese and Zhejiangese. In addition to her professional responsibilities. Ms. Chen is a Board Member of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and is an active member of the Asia Society in New York City.
